Freddie Cole
Freddie is an experienced adventure guide having worked in the industry since the summer of 2016, qualified as a Mountain Leader, Rock Climbing Instructor, Canoe Leader, and Mountain Bike Leader among other things. Working on a summer camp in the US, he realised that teaching was his calling and adventure was his passion. He then spent 3 years training, instructing and coaching in the Scottish Highlands, before setting up Peaks, Paddles and Pedals with Nicola. Born in Dorset, raised around the world as a Forces child, he always knew he was a Celt at heart! When he isn’t located in the back of beyond, he is normally found doing DIY, foraging and dabbling with brewing and fermenting.

Nicola Cole
Nicola has spent her childhood holidays loving the outdoors in the Lake District . At university, she was an accomplished rower for the Imperial College Boat Club, then she turned her hand to fell and mountain running, competing in 2 day mountain marathon events such as the OMM (Original Mountain Marathon) and RUN GMC 2018. After earning her degree in Mechanical Engineering, she worked in London as a Sustainability Consultant and Development Engineer, but realised that she missed the outdoors. She now works as a Physics and Mathematics teacher locally, and spends her summers guiding. She is qualified as a Mountain Leader, Mountain Bike Leader and both Open and White Water Canoe Leader. In her spare time, Nicola can be found running over the mountain tops of the Cairngorms or swimming in lochs at the mountain’s feet, and when back in civilisation she is a talented baker, cook, and can turn her hand to almost any craft with great success.

The Aim and Dream
Together, we have a passion for sharing our knowledge of the outdoors and our love of the life-changing experience of living with nature. There is so much to explore in the UK and we believe firmly that sustainable and ethical tourism will benefit both visitors and the local community. We love where we live in the Cairngorms and are so excited to be able to share this wild place with you. With lots of research pointing to the educational and personal growth benefits offered by wilderness experiences, it is our long term dream to be able to offer these to challenged and disadvantaged young people who need them most. This is just the beginning of our journey and adventure into a better future for all.
This leads to our ethos of enabling everyone to get out and adventure, safely, ethically and responsibly.
